Late one night, after speaking with a dear friend about his newly published book, Judy Bowen got the wonderful idea that started the New Buffalo Legends Awards.  After much thought and planning the idea evolved into a luncheon that honored several different people in different categories for what they have done that  made a difference in the community.  As time progressed Judy realized that as much fun as she has planning events, this was a project too big even for her to accomplish.  There are many people who have done so much that no one person could know all the history.  Judy then delved into the New Buffalo Alumni postings and put out a call for help.   With an overwhelming reponse of suggestions and nominations that it quickly became obvious that this would become and annual event. 

This website is dedicated to finding those unsung heros that we have right here in New Buffalo.  The heros that have never asked to be honored, but through the establishment of this committee can assume their place among the ranks of New Buffalo Legends.
